We at South Forty would like to take this moment to introduce
ourselves and to share our concerns for all animals of today and tomorrow. We have
dedicated our lives to raise threatened and endangered species in hopes of preserving
them in the wild as well as in captivity. We share our knowledge with others
through educational programs to help inform the the public of the serious
dangers our animals face each and every day. Due to rapid population growth
of the human being, we are destroying natural habitats of exotic species
at an alarming rate of destruction. Thousands and thousands of acres are
being destroyed daily leaving behind little hope and a grim future for
all wild species, including ourselves. We at South Forty feel that
it is important for you to know some facts.
In the past
decade the population of African Lions in the wild has decreased by more than
.
The population
of Siberian Tigers in the wild is estimated to be fewer than
There is
less than
of the rain forest left, making nearly all animals native
to the rain forest endangered species!
At the current
rate of destruction by the year 2000 we will lose an average of
of plants and animals a day to extinction!
These are important facts that one should know to have a better understanding
of captive breeding. We feel this is the key to the survival for these
great creatures. We at South Forty, have created a sanctuary where our
goal is to create an awareness to all and to educate the public by actual
hands-on contact. It is our belief that a greater respect for the animal
kingdom and their natural habitat can be obtained by others through our
program. In the past, we have been able to provide these animals a sanctuary
to live out a stress free life through love, dedication and our personal
funds along with money raised from the animal shows. However the past couple
of years have been challenging. We have received more animals in need of
a home and because of our love for these creatures, we cannot turn away
an animal in need. We at South Forty take pride, pleasure and responsibility
for these animals. A task that requires the help of many. You can help
us give these creatures the full and enriched life they so justly deserve.
With your donation and our dedication, we can make a future for many species
that might otherwise not have one. We feel that our beautiful animals of
nature are worth it.
